Dynamics of Wastewater Discharge Volumes in 2003-2005
Water discharge and abstraction volumes depend on the volumes of generated electric power.
Wastewater discharged by Konakovskaya GRES, Nevinnomysskaya GRES and Sredneuralskaya GRES is clean and has the same concentration of contaminants as the water abstracted by the plants.
At Reftinskaya GRES, concentration of certain contaminants in wastewater is higher than the acceptable level. That is why the power plant undertakes additional measures on further purification of wastewater and reduction of discharged volumes.

2. Removal of bottom sediment in Oil Collection Unit 2.
3. Reconstruction of the drainage system of the fuel oil network.
4. Capital repairs of the wastewater purification complex.
5. Equipment of Blocks no. 1-8 with an automated system for control of nitrogen oxide emission volumes. (MAK-2000)
Nevinnomysskaya GRES
1. Repairs of hydraulic installations of the riverside pump station of Barsuchkovsky water abstraction complex.
2. Repairs of pits of the storm sewer.
Reftinskaya GRES
1. Reclamation of Ash Dump 1 is complete.
2. Capital repairs of electric filters of Blocks no. 3, 10.
3. Repairs and cleaning of the ash dump drainage system.
Sredneuralskaya GRES
1. Works on decreasing organic pollution of the Isetskoye artificial lake by using floating biofilters.
2. Environmental activities on estimation of influence of the plant’s waste ponds onto surface and underground water.
